FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee Bolsters Leadership Team as Preparations to Host World’s Biggest Sporting Event Continue

NEW YORK NEW JERSEY (February 11, 2025) – As the New York New Jersey (NYNJ) region continues extensive planning and coordination efforts to host the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final and seven other World Cup matches, the NYNJ Host Committee – the local organizing body responsible for delivering the matches – has expanded its robust and seasoned leadership team. New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy has been named Chair of the Host Committee’s Board of Directors and Alex Lasry has been named Chief Executive Officer; he will lead the NYNJ Host Committee on a day-to-day basis.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY (July 10, 2024) – The FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee today continued to celebrate the soccer-filled summer by providing access to the pitch at MetLife Stadium to hundreds of youth from across the region. The activities included dynamic soccer clinics led by the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Host Committee’s Legacy Strategy Partner, on MetLife Stadium’s iconic field.
