NEW YORK NEW JERSEY STADIUM — Following today’s Germany vs. Ecuador match at New York New Jersey Stadium, FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry released the following statement:

“Today’s Germany vs. Ecuador match marked an important milestone as we reached the halfway point of FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches at New York New Jersey Stadium. Once again, we welcomed a sold-out crowd of more than 80,000 fans and delivered a safe, secure, and memorable matchday experience.

“With each match, our operation continues to get stronger. Working alongside our public safety, transportation, venue, and FIFA partners, we got nearly 99% of fans into the stadium before kickoff and facilitated another smooth, orderly departure in under 2.5 hours, building on the success of our previous matches.

“As we head into the second half of the tournament, today demonstrated the strength of the planning, coordination, and partnerships that have made it possible to deliver a world-class fan experience while keeping one of the most complex event operations in the world running safely and efficiently.”
