NEW YORK NEW JERSEY STADIUM — Following today’s France vs. Sweden match at New York New Jersey Stadium, FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry released the following statement:
“Today’s France vs. Sweden match successfully kicked off the Knockout Stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ at New York New Jersey Stadium. Now six matches into the tournament, our operations continue to strengthen with each event. Through close coordination among our transportation, public safety, venue, and FIFA partners, 97% of fans entered the stadium before kickoff, and all fans departed in under two and a half hours following the match. As we look ahead to our remaining matches, including the Final, we are confident, prepared, and ready to welcome the world back to New York New Jersey Stadium.”
