UBER NAMED OFFICIAL NEW YORK NEW JERSEY WORLD CUP 2026 HOST CITY SUPPORTER
Official Rideshare Supporter of the NYNJ Host Committee will support fan activations and matchday transportation operations during FIFA World Cup 2026™
NEW YORK — Uber and the FIFA World Cup 26™ New York New Jersey Host Committee (NYNJ Host Committee) today announced that Uber has been named an Official New York New Jersey World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter and the Official Rideshare Supporter of the NYNJ Host Committee ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™.
As a Host City Supporter, Uber will support fan engagement efforts across the region and provide rideshare services for matches at New York New Jersey Stadium. Uber will also activate at several official NYNJ Fan Zones, including the NYNJ World Cup 26 Jersey Fan Hub at SI Stadium and the NYNJ World Cup 26 Queens Group Stage HQ at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Uber will engage with fans through activations and experiences at these NYNJ Host Committee events throughout the tournament, helping connect visitors and residents to the celebrations taking place across New York and New Jersey.
As part of its broader commitment to helping visitors experience all that the New York and New Jersey region has to offer during FIFA World Cup 26™, Uber is also the presenting sponsor of the Five Borough Winners Special, New York City’s official citywide dining program during the tournament. Developed by New York City Hall and NYC Tourism + Conventions and available through the NYNJ Host Committee’s Welcome World Rewards Program, the initiative encourages visitors and residents to explore all five boroughs through $26 dining and drink specials and collectible cups offered at participating restaurants, bars, and food establishments.
The announcement reflects months of coordination between Uber, the NYNJ Host Committee, and regional transportation partners as preparations continue for one of the largest sporting events in history. Throughout the planning process, Uber has worked alongside event stakeholders to support the region’s broader mobility strategy and help ensure fans have a variety of transportation options available during the tournament.
As the Official Rideshare Supporter of the NYNJ Host Committee, Uber will operate the Uber Rideshare Zone at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment about one mile away from the stadium, which will serve as the designated rideshare pickup and drop-off location for fans traveling to and from New York New Jersey Stadium on matchdays. The location will feature Uber branding and dedicated customer wayfinding to support matchday operations.
Uber will also offer post-match Uber Shuttle service, providing fans with another option for continuing their journey after matches while helping reduce the volume of single occupancy vehicles around the stadium.
“We’re proud to partner with the New York New Jersey Host Committee and help fans travel throughout the tournament. Our goal is to offer a range of transport options that complement public transit and support the region’s broader mobility plans. We look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world and helping them get where they need to go to enjoy the action.” said George Gordon, Vice President US & Canada Mobility, at Uber.
“Preparing for an event of this magnitude requires coordination across transportation providers, government agencies, and private-sector partners,” said Alex Lasry, CEO of the FIFA World Cup 26™ New York New Jersey Host Committee. “Uber has been a valuable collaborator as we have developed a comprehensive mobility plan for the tournament. While public transportation will remain the primary way fans travel to and from matches, Uber’s support will help provide an additional transportation option for visitors while enhancing the fan experience across our region. We are thrilled to welcome them as a Host City Supporter”
FIFA World Cup 2026™ matchdays at New York New Jersey Stadium will operate as a public transportation-first event, with enhanced rail and bus services serving as the primary transportation modes for spectators. Fans planning to utilize rideshare services should anticipate increased demand and longer wait times following matches and are encouraged to plan ahead and review transportation options in advance. Rideshare pickup and drop off will occur about 1.3 miles away from the stadium.
